In 1990, educator and cultural critic Neil Postman described a museum as "an answer to a fundamental question: what does it mean to be a human being?" I must admit that I've never found this definition very helpful. Without an explicit "I" voice, the museum's perspective on humanity is oblique to say the least. It uses multimedia beautifully.
